Pharmahungary™ is responsible for the preclinical development of selective
MMP inhibitors and to co-ordinate the MMPharma™ consortium. Pharmahungary
provides innovative preclinical and clinical R&D solutions focusing on
cardiovascular and metabolic diseases such as diabetes, hyperlipidemia,
and atherosclerosis. The know-how of Pharmahungary™ in custom design
innovative R&D model systems (innoRD™) significantly reduces the duration
of preclinical drug development.
InFarmatik
InFarmatik is responsible for the chemistry in the MMP project.
From the synthesis of individual compounds, through library synthesis to lead optimization
everything is done in the company's laboratories. Based upon long experience in the drug
discovery the company is capable to come up with novel selective MMP antagonists.
Cardiovascular Research Group
The Cardiovascular Research Group at the University of Szeged is responsible
for investigation of the pathophysiological roles of MMPs in cardiovascular
diseases. The research group is one of the leading research groups in
cardiovascular sciences in the Europe.
HAS, Biological Research Center, Institute of Biochemistry
HAS, Biological Research Center, Institute of Enzymology
The Institute of Enzymology will produce sufficient quantities of recombinant
MMP-2, -9,and -13 enzymes for HTS. The catalytic regions are planned to be refolded from
inclusion bodies produced in E. coli.
Target-Ex
Target-Ex is an R&D company focusing on biochemistry and biotechnology. It offers services
in the early phase of drug discovery. Core competences of the company are protein expression,
cell and target-based assay development and screening. The role of RecomGenex in the Consortium is
the development of target-based assays for the different MMPs and screening of the candidate inhibitor
compounds.
Pharmatest
Pharmatest performs the high throughput virtual screening of the potent MMP inhibitors.
The company support the hit optimization task as well.
BIOPOLISZ
Our firm is an innovation service provider company dealing with the promotion of utilization
of new technologies, including the transfer of academic intellectual property and the targeting of technology
ment demands.
National Office for Research and Technology
The project is supported by the National Office for Research and Technology, the support being funded by the Research and Technology Innovation Fund.
